Center for Advanced Proteomics Research

Overview of Services

Welcome to the Center for Advanced Proteomics Research (CAPR) at the New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) of the Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences. CAPR resides centrally in the Cancer Institute of New Jersey-Newark, 205 S. Orange Ave, Newark, NJ 07103. This facility has a state-of-the-art mass spectrometer, proteomics instruments, and bioinformatics systems for protein structure and function analysis.  With an NIH High-End Instrumentation Grant, CAPR now has an Orbitrap Fusion Lumos Tribrid mass spectrometer (Lumos MS). With high sensitivity, fast scan speed, and multi- fragmentation options, Lumos MS is a powerful instrument for enabling researchers to achieve in-depth protein expression and sensitive identification of post-translational modifications of proteins isolated from cells, tissues, and organisms. We at CAPR look forward to helping researchers at Rutgers and all over the world with their protein analysis needs.
